What is a German job seeker visa?

Job seeker visa, known as “Temporary residence permit for qualified skilled workers seeking employment” is issued to people who wish to come to Germany to search for an employment opportunity. Germany is lacking skilled professionals and taking in more people from other countries to bridge the gap.

The job seeker visa allows the person to stay in Germany for 6 months, search for a job and once a job is confirmed, they can convert it into a Blue Card or Work Permit.

How does it apply for students with a Master degree in Germany?

For student who already have a Masters degree in Germany, they get an extension for 18 months for finding a job. It is different from others who are entering Germany in order to find a job.

 

Application process for a German job seeker visa

  1. Prepare all the necessary documents like
  • Application form
  • Valid Passport
  • CV and Motivation Letter
  • Degree statements and recognition of the degree in Germany
  • Biometric photos
  • Insurance (proof that you are insured)
  • Proof of accommodation in Germany
  • Statements which prove that you can manage your living expenses in Germany
  • Proof of personal status in the home country (translated)
  1. Book an appointment with the German mission in your country
  2. Bring in all the necessary documents
  3. You might also have to pay an application fee for the visa, depending on the country who are from
